To add this class:
Register in class #3573, Student Development 150. It is an open-entry class. See Mr.Doyle during his office hours for the add signature. He is at AD 213, 818-240-1000, ext.5343, ddoyle@glendale.edu. Enrollment in this class does not guarantee a job, but this class IS required for those who wish to work as tutors. You must meet additional department qualifications to be actually employed. Check with Andy Stires for more information: ext.5333, astires@glendale.edu.

How this class works:
  • This is a self-paced course which operates similar to a guided independent study. Keep in touch with Mr.Doyle at each step in the course.
  • Students must complete eight hours of work which consists of modules 1, 2, 3, 4a or 4b (do either), 5, 6, and 7. To do these modules, students should read through the materials linked to this site, as well as read chapters in the class textbook as assigned.
  • Students must also complete at least one of the Library Research workshops to meet the requirements for Module 5. These are offered weekly during the course of the semester. Sign up with them in the Library. If you have already completed one as a part of another class, choose a section which you have not finished yet. Notify the Library that the hour should be applied to Student Development 150 (#3573). Bring back the Student Attendance Verification Form to Mr. Doyle.
  • The last part of the course (as part of Module 7) is to do at least two hours of practice/observation in either the Learning Center OR the Math/Science Center. Arrange this with the manager either of the Learning Center or the Math/Science Center. Use the Observation Form which is a link on this page.
